I have a Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier that has issues with volume. Whenever I am playing at a loud volume (and sometimes at low volumes) the volume will suddenly get quieter. Sometimes it will jump back and forth, quieter-louder, and it does this on all three channels. Sometimes I will play for 20-30 minutes before this happens, and sometimes within the first few minutes. I have taken it to a few different people in the area to see if anyone could repair it and have had zero success. Does anyone know what might be wrong with this amp? Or perhaps where I should go to get this fixed? It's been an ongoing problem for over a year now and I'd really like to finally resolve it. Let me know what you all think....

I know someone who was having similar issues recently. He tried alot of things but new tubes seemed to solve the problem.

Call Mesa Boogie, they're really good with customers. Let me know if you need help shipping it out.

This.

If you don't have the scratch to ship, call Frank in Hot Springs. He's the only MESA authorized repair station in Arkansas, and he does a great job. Free repairs if it's still under warantee.

Might also try and get in contact with Joe Twist. The man is a wizard with amps.

I took it to Joe 4 different times. He couldn't figure it out. I think I'm probably going to send it to Mesa.

I know it's obvious stuff but check cables. using the wrong cable for a speaker cable can have the same effect. Also check your ohms and make sure you are not doing something funky there. If the amp gets too hot it will do the volume thing too. We have to keep a fan on our PA because of this. Our old bass player had a really nice new SWR amp that the volume faded and he was using a speaker cable not gauged heavy duty enough.

If these things are in check then go to a mesa dealer or trade it off.

does this thing vent on the top? if so don't put your beer or other drinks on top it because the condensation will leak down into the components and seriously fuck shit up. i had to learn that the hard way...at a gig....

It does vent on the top; I think all Mesa triple rectifiers do. Regardless, I never lay drinks on top of it.

Do you have the correct power cable. If you are using to high of a gage bad things may happen. 14 or lower would be good.
